Inauguration

The A.G. Leventis Gallery of Cypriote Antiquities at the Medelhavsmuseet was opened on the 29th January 2009 by the Minister for Culture Mrs Lena Adelsohn Liljeroth.
The new peramnent gallery in the central hall of the museum houses around 1400 objects from the Neolithic to the Roman Imperial period, covering 7000 years of Cypriote history. More objects than ever before are now on display and the spectacular terracotta figures from the cult site of Ayia Irini are housed in a huge showcase.
