Join us for an evening focusing on poetry and art at a time when Palestine is marked by violence, destruction, and uncertainty. When living conditions are shattered and cultural heritage is threatened, artistic expression becomes a crucial force for remembering, bearing witness, and preserving. Through words, images, and stories, Gaza’s heritage is passed on, as resistance against silence and as a bridge between the reality of the present and the hope of the future.
The program begins with a reading by poet Sahar Mousa, followed by a conversation with Madeleine Grieve about new and previous texts.
Klas Grinell, national coordinator for ICORN, leads a conversation with artists Majdal Nateel and Salman Nawati about their ongoing projects in Palestine.
Majdal Nateel is active in the Dahaleez collective, which brings together cultural workers in Gaza through workshops and a digital platform to document and archive knowledge and experiences. Salman Nawati works with the Hawaf Collective, which runs the Sahab Museum—a virtual “cloud museum” and a platform for visualizing Gaza’s history, present, and future.
The evening is a collaboration between ICORN, the Museum of Mediterranean and Near Eastern Antiquities, PEN Sweden, and 20TAL.
