Education

Discover the ancient cultures that you have read about at school and join us on an exciting journey around the Mediterranean!

Due to current circumstances the museum currently does not offer educational programmes. For questions, contact skolinfo_sthlm@varldskulturmuseerna.se

Our school programs give you a glimpse of the ancient societies and the significant influence that these had on the cultures of the Western world. Explore ancient Egyptian burial traditions, Mesopotamian culture and Greek and Roman mythology and visit the amazing sacred cult site of Ajia Irini in Cyprus. There is something here for all ages!

The museum's school programs cover several school subjects such as religion, history, social studies, language, imagery, geography and Swedish. For more detailed information, click on the links to the left.

Please let us know if you have any special requirements or requests as we can arrange guided tours and activities to suit your specific school class or group. We can also, for example in connection with a guided tour, organise a workshop where your class or group are shown how to make Cypriot votive offerings in clay or paint hieroglyphs on papyrus among other things. The collections and varying exhibitions of the museum offer many interesting themes for education.

A warm welcome to Medelhavsmuseet!
