Greek vases with mythological motifs depict the ancient gods and heroes. In the Department of Sculptures can be seen marble portraits of Roman emperors as well as ordinary citizens together with tomb inscriptions and sculpture reliefs. On the first floor of the museum is the Upper Gallery housing a study collection of Greek, Etruscan and Roman ceramics from prehistoric times until the Late Antiquity period. In the Upper Gallery you will also find a selection of terracotta figurines of gods, humans and animals as well as objects relating to various aspects of daily life in ancient times.
