Located only five minutes from Central station, the Museum of Mediterranean and Near Eastern Antiquities is a cosmopolitan meeting place for culture, discussion and debates. The museum hosts fascinating collections from Egypt, Cyprus, Greece, The Roman Empire and the Middle East and is Sweden's main archaeological museum of Mediterranean cultures.
The interior of this beautiful building was inspired by the renaissance palace "Palazzo Bevilaqua" in Bologna and forms an elegant backdrop to the museum collectionsan. With magnificent views of the Royal Castle and Skeppsholmen, this beautifully wood paneled room once served as a meeting room to the board of directors at the bank that was located in the building from 1874-1955. The room is part of Bagdad Café but can be rented out as a "Chambre separeé " for parties of up to 70 people who wish to dine in a private room. The space is also great for standing receptions and is adjacent to the auditorium which means it is often used as a break out room and for coffee breaks.
